Look, I could tell you about my equipment (it's good) or my experience (decade plus) or my training (fancy art school, if you care). But here's what actually matters:
I used to coordinate events (yes, color-coded spreadsheets and all). Then I picked up a camera and learned that the most honest photographs happen in the spaces I couldn't plan for. Now, as a couples photographer and NYC engagement photographer who has spent years exploring this city with lovers, I've developed an eye for the in-between moments. The ones you don't even realize are happening.
Beyond photography, you'll see that I love to travel (new adventures and secret places are truly where I feel most at home), I'm obsessed with margaritas and mezcal, and I live for acts of service. That event planning background means I know this city like the back of my hand—the hidden spots, the perfect golden hour locations, the places tourists haven't ruined yet. I'll help you figure out what to wear, where to go, and how to feel comfortable in front of the camera, because engagement photography and couples photography should feel more like an adventure with a friend than a formal photoshoot.

Let's Talk About What Love Actually Looks Like
There are endless ways to be a couple, be together, be engaged, be married, be truly whatever you want. But what matters most is capturing those moments as (and this is where I sound like my mother) they are so fleeting. The happy and difficult times come and go, but having physical memories of what and where you were together is priceless. To provide a little more context, I've outlined some different approaches to my couples and engagement sessions.
Sign Me Up!
The "We Don't Need Labels" Sessions
Not everyone's relationship fits in a neat box, and those are my favorite stories to capture. Maybe you've been together for years and marriage isn't your thing. Maybe you're navigating something beautifully complicated that still screams for some documentation. That's why these candid couples photography sessions are for celebrating exactly where you are, wherever that is. No timeline pressure. No "what are we" anxiety. Just you two (or three, if we're counting the pets) being yourselves while I happen to be there with a camera.
The "Holy Shit We're Engaged" Sessions
So it happened. Someone proposed (or you both just decided over breakfast—I've seen it all). And now you're in that weird space where everyone's asking about wedding dates and you're still processing the fact that someone wants to wake up next to you forever.
I don't do those engagement photography sessions where you're standing in a field looking at each other while I yell "now laugh!" from behind a tree. (Okay, sometimes there's a field, but only if you actually like fields.) Instead, as your New York engagement photographer, we’ll do something that feels like you. That brewery where you spend every Friday. Your kitchen where you cook elaborate Sunday dinners. That hiking trail where you had your first real fight and somehow came out stronger.

Based on what you imagine for your shoot, I'll craft a personalized package just for you. I can coordinate everything from location to props, or just show up and shoot on the day of, if that's what you prefer. The idea is to design a couples session that is completely true to you two.

Shoot Day & Beyond
On your shoot day, forget about logistics and simply be together. I'll capture every moment, guiding when needed but mostly letting the session unfold naturally. Do you photograph proposals?
Yes! As a proposal photographer in NYC, I've hidden behind trees, pretended to be a tourist, and coordinated with more sneaky partners than I can count. If you're planning to pop the question, let's talk about how to capture that moment without giving away the surprise.
What are the best locations for engagement photography in NYC?
This totally depends on you and your story! Your NYC engagement photographer (that's me) will help you choose spots that mean something to you, not just the tourist traps. Maybe it's where you had your first date, or that random corner in Brooklyn where everything just feels right.
What if it rains on the day of our couples photos?
If the weather doesn't cooperate, then we get epic NYC engagement photography with reflections in puddles and dramatic skies. I also always have clear umbrellas to play around with. Or we reschedule. Your call. Weather doesn't scare me, and it shouldn't scare you either.
Do you only shoot in Manhattan?
Absolutely not! As a New York engagement photographer, I go wherever your story takes us—Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, even Jersey (I won't judge). Great engagement photography happens wherever you feel most like yourselves.

Your photos are the only thing left after the party ends. After the flowers die, the dress goes in a box, and you can't remember what the hell you served for dessert.
