When Danielle and Adam decided to celebrate their engagement in New York City, it felt like a full-circle moment. Both New Yorkers at heart, they had recently moved to the Midwest for Danielle’s medical career in St. Louis, but their connection to the city remained strong. What better way to honor that than with classic and timeless engagement photos at the Met?
A Love Built on Adventure
Danielle and Adam’s love story is as vibrant as the city where they fell in love. After getting engaged in Bali (complete with a pool filled with flower petals!), they’ve continued their adventures across the globe, visiting places like Miami, Israel, and Colorado. Six months after this session, the couple tied the knot in stunning Lake Como, Italy, continuing their tradition of creating unforgettable memories.
Why you should take engagement photos at the Met
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is a dream setting for engagement photos. Its stunning architecture, variety of spaces, and world-class art make it an elegant and unique backdrop for couples. Every room at The Met tells its own story, giving us the chance to create images that feel dynamic and personal.
For Danielle and Adam, The Met provided a setting that mirrored their shared love of travel, culture, and classic beauty. Whether it was a quiet moment on the grand staircase or an intimate shot in one of the museum’s galleries, every frame captured the magic of their relationship.
Starting the day with a true New York vibe
We began our day at Ralph’s Coffee, a quintessential New York spot. Meeting Danielle and Adam felt like reconnecting with old friends—our shared New York roots created instant camaraderie. From the very first shot, their trust in me as their photographer allowed us to capture authentic, intimate moments.
The streets of the Upper East Side added another layer of charm to Danielle and Adam’s engagement photos at the Met. With its distinctive architecture and timeless vibe, the neighborhood complemented their story perfectly. The classic streetscapes were the ideal transition between the day’s iconic locations.
Engagement photos at The Met: A New York Love Story
When we arrived at The Met, the magic of the location immediately came to life. Arriving early gave us the rare chance to enjoy this iconic space without the usual hustle and bustle. The result? Dreamy, serene photos that felt like a scene out of a classic New York romance.
Danielle, wearing a show-stopping outfit from NADINE MERABI, looked every bit the icon against the museum’s classic interiors. The combination of her bold style and Adam’s classic charm created a striking contrast with the elegant surroundings.
Walking through the galleries, we captured a mix of candid and posed shots. Fellow museum-goers congratulated them on their engagement, adding an extra layer of joy to the session.
A personal favorite from the session is this wide shot where it looks like Danielle and Adam had The Met all to themselves. It took patience, photoshop, and their willingness to pause for the perfect moment —but the result was worth every second.
We didn’t want to stop exploring, so we made our way to The New York Public Library. The architecture still blows my mind to this day. Even as a native New Yorker, it never gets old. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
What They Said
Danielle and Adam’s reaction to their photos was the cherry on top of an amazing session. Their kind words made my day:
“We’re seriously obsessed with these. Thank you so much again ❤️❤️❤️ Recommending you to all my friends. It’s insane!!! It looks like we have the Met all to ourselves!”
